Helmet in more ways than one!

Ok, today I got a later train into London, half an hour later to be precise and the optimist in me thought that perhaps you'd find a more 'normal' commuter. Oh how wrong I was...

This man has been wearing this for over an hour!! My question is why! He clearly IS a helmet!
